Eagle Academy Mission Statement
Eagle Academy will offer an academically challenging program requiring mastery of performance standards before students progress to the next level of curriculum.

What Makes Eagle Academy Successful?
Eagle Academy is a “school of choice” governed by an Academic Policy Board working together with the principal toward the common goal of school excellence.  Enrollment is through an on-line lottery process.  Our school charter emphasizes the following elements that combine to provide students with an outstanding K-6 education and provide our students with a foundation for later success:
  • Our core curriculum, which includes Spalding Language Arts, Saxon Math, Scott Foresman Science, and Core Knowledge History and Geography, meets or exceeds state standards.  This challenging program provides students with an outstanding foundation for later learning.
  • Math and Language Arts are scheduled to allow students to receive instruction at the appropriate performance level following placement testing in these subjects each fall.
  • The Spalding Method and The Writing Road to Reading are used as a total language arts approach.  Reading is taught phonetically using the Spalding methodology which is research based, multi-sensory, and delivered through direct instruction.
  • Parental involvement is an integral component to student success.  Involvement with student homework is essential and strongly encouraged for students of all grades.
  • Our Charter requires parents to commit to a minimum of 16 service hours per year to the school.
  • Consistency and continuity throughout the program are emphasized. Teachers continually collaborate with teachers in adjacent (higher and lower) levels to ensure consistency from level to level.
  • The ideals of patriotism and good character are stressed throughout the program through special activities and volunteer opportunities for students.
  • Students are required to wear a uniform (specific items through French Toast).
